A Corner Turned

People of America have, I believe, taken their first steps to recover their country from the 6 year rule of the 'democratic tyranny' of the Bush administration. Brave America is still alive and is a cause for celebration.

When one considers all the damage that has been perpetrated by that small band of the priviledged few, the road back is going to be long and hard. But the first important step has been made.

The work towards the 2008 presidential election must start now, and Democrates have got to find an internationally acceptable and respected statesman to lead America back to the light. I don't care if he or she is a heathen and has a history of affairs on the side, - all that counts is that he or she is intelligent, wise and can command respect.

America, enjoy your moment of movement back to the free world, but don't rest too long on your laurels, there is an emmense amount of work yet to do.

Indeed it was more of an intervention than an election, but the hard work is yet to come. Will our newly elected leaders sit back and allow Bush to continue his destructive reign of error...or will they abide the will of the American people and throw that war criminal out of office?

This is just the first step. I'm not sure what will or will not actually happen over the next two years. Hopefully, some positive changes to get us out of Iraq.

My concern is Mark's request for an "internationally acceptable and accepted statesman" (or woman) - I don't think we have any of those over here. I'm a Dem through and through but I have concerns about our possible frontrunners... We shall see. I'm optimistic though (finally!!!).

Here's hoping the Dems find a spine & a set of gonads, somewhere in both houses!

The hard work has just begun.

Yes yes yes. Here is hoping that the Dems, having won on the ABR platform (remember the ABB voters back in '04? Anybody But Bush? Well this time it was Anybody But Republicans) actually come up with some good practical actions to take.

I've got a friend who refers to all the 2-party system politicians as "Republicrats".

I'd love to see the new folks prove him wrong, and I think he'd probably be thrilled to be wrong too, but...

I can't get too excited yet.

I guess my response to the election is "Yay, with reservations".
