She Is One Tremendous Human Being

Moxiegrrrl has this transcript of a letter by Cindy Sheehan putting her side of the story of her arrest. With people like her in the world, I know we are not yet truely lost.

Welcome to our brave new world.

Hi Mark,
Doesn't it remind you of the pensioner who was thrown out of the Labour Party conference for shouting, "Rubbish!" at Jack Straw?
Thank God that our two great countries are democracies that protect our right of free speech!

"New" World, Jay? Not hardly!

In 1996 Glenn and Patricia Mendoza attended A Taste of Chicago event, in Chicago, Illinois. President Clinton was also attending.

Mrs. Mendoza allegedly yelled, "You suck! And those boys died." She was supposedly referring to the Khobar Towers bombing.
Shortly after Clinton departed the event, Mrs. Mendoza was arrested for her statement. When her husband told her, "You might need a lawyer!" he was taken into custody as well.

In 1993, William Kelly of Chicago was arrested for heckling Clinton at a business meeting, saying, "What you need to do is abide by your original campaign promise of a middle-class tax cut."

James, - Cindy didn't say anything, yet she was chucked out. Heckling can be considered an abuse of someone's freedom to speak, but just sitting there silent with a T-shirt reminding the world how many young people have been killed as a result of Bush's idiocy, is hardly impinging on Bush's right to free speech.

But being arrested for speaking isn't?

Sorry James, you seem to be losing it here. Didn't understand at all the point you were trying to make. Cindy didn't say anything, but she was arrested, - aren't you concerned about that, at all?

Eddie: Blair has learnt a lot from his association with Bush. To both these men, democracy and freedom are not important, - except when they require us to vote them in again.

The good thing here, is that most people are not swallowing the garbage that Blair spouts forth, unlike some Americans who become almost orgasmic with delight when they see the monkey's pout.

I am proud to be human when there are honourable people like Cindy in the world.

Of course you are, Mark.

Glad you agree James, perhaps there's hope for you yet!

I see that irony and sarcasm are lost on you, Mark.
